You often see that sterilisation gives a long and dramatic scar on the stomach. But Geneviève is trained to do this surgery through an entrance hole as small as possible. When the surgery is finished, the small hole is closed with internal stitches. Which means that it is no longer necessary with collar or inhibitory bandages.
When the coat has grown back out, it is hard to see any signs of surgery.
The operation is supervised by our nurse Michael, who during the surgery ensures that the cat is sedated in the best possible way.
After surgery the wound gets laser treatment in order to speed up the healing process.
